Description

Nature is beautiful. But did you know how beautiful woodlands can be when the conditions are gloomy and foggy? This is when Nature truly stands out as told with the woodland photograph A Path Unknown.

On this chilly winter morning, the fog was thick as I had awaken just aft 5am this Saturday morning. As a local park sits just 15 mins. South of us, I have been wanting to explore it for sometime. A small park, Eagle Lake Crest Park in Largo offers a good size lake tucked inside the center. And on this morning when I had awaken, I had high hopes of capturing several feathered friends in the thick dense fog as they glide atop the lake.

Once arriving on location back in the farthest spot of the park, I was greeted with a path to the unknown. With the temps in the low 50’s, the air was nice, but the fog began to lighten up since my departure from the house about 20 mins. prior. Another path was just to the left with another option to explore. However, a lone leaf sitting below the hovering arms of an old oak tree had caught my attention. Then the two halos which seemed to appear in the trees made the start to this morning an interesting one (which simply turned out to be openings in the thick layer of limbs). What was awaiting down the trial?

Being the first time at this park, the trail looked intriguing as the misty fog began to dissipate from the air, while a soft hazy light highlighted from an opening of the trees above. Not knowing where this path would leave, I began my journey to the unknown while having high hopes of catching a few feathered friends soaking up the cool morning from the parks lake.

As my journey began on the path unknown, I eventually was led to the lake I had come to visit. Once arriving, I was welcomed with a chilly scene, with light fog hovering above the cold waters. However, I was not greeted by my feathered friends.
